VMC shortlisted in prestigious industry awards

​We don’t often like to blow our own trumpet, but we’ve been shortlisted in not 1 but 4 categories in this year’s Vendies Awards run by Vending International Magazine.

Best Payment System

Recognising the growing need for a contactless solution with additional benefits and functionality beyond just taking the payment, we developed a solution that offered choice and flexibility to operators as well as new sales opportunities and an improved customer experience – VMC Flex.

Offering a range of payment options, including open contactless, mobile payments, cashless closed-user cards and QR code payment in the VMC App. It can also be integrated beyond just vending, enabling operators to add other site facilities into their payment scheme – such as catering, parking, printing, laundry and more. 

Best Vending Project

This is a unique project with a major UK retailer helping them improve a free hot drink loyalty scheme they offer to their best customers. The free drink benefit had qualifying criteria; customers must shop to earn their drink and can only take one drink per day, but this was being abused due to a lack of tracking and control methods in stores at a huge cost to the retailer.

We designed a bespoke solution based on the VMC Flex technology, that monitors the scheme at user level and ensures just one drink can be taken daily and only after a purchase has been made. This innovative solution is currently being rolled out across their UK stores and will not only save them significant costs, but it will also help them reduce waste and provide more detailed customer shopping data to further enhance their loyalty program.

Customer Service Award

Finalists in the Customer Service Award category, the VMC Operations team consists of the Projects Team, Helpdesk, Field Service Engineers, and Production. This tight-knit team of 13 work closely together at all times, each owning a specific part of the customer journey but all relying on support and co-operation from each other to ensure the whole process runs smoothly.

Our way of working at VMC has always been focused on keeping our customers happy and coming back for more. One of the joys of what we do is growing with our clients, evolving our technology and service alongside their changing needs to keep those relationships flourishing and our Operations Team are absolutely at the heart of providing this.

Woman Of The Year (Supplier)

Last of all our very own Jill Bode is a finalist in the Woman of The Year Award. Jill is our Operations Manager and leads the Projects Team, Helpdesk, Fields Service Engineers, and Production.

Jill is a key member of our management team, and her role plays a pivotal part in most of our internal service processes. A veteran of the vending industry, Jill has also recently completed 20 years of service with VMC, and her many years of experience and extensive knowledge are hard to beat. It’s this high level of expertise that has seen our operations team become one of the best in the payments industry.

It’s great to see the VMC team get some much-deserved recognition, we wish them and all the other finalists the best of luck on the big awards night in June. We’ll keep you posted 🤞
