VMC on Tour!

November has been a busy month for the VMC team, with not one but two trade shows to attend. It was great getting back out on the road and seeing people face-to-face again after so much time away.

First up was the Holiday Park/Family Attraction Show at the NEC in Birmingham. This is a large-scale show, and it was great to see it busy and buzzing, with a strong focus on growth in the industry after the pandemic. Our sales team enjoyed two days of meeting lots of new faces and hearing about the current challenges facing park operators.

We were able to show them the many ways in which our open payment solutions can be applied in their environment to help them improve efficiency, maximise sales opportunities, and create additional revenue streams by adding new unattended services. Electric vehicle charging, amusements and beer vending were some of the hot topics on our stand, along with the many different payment options we can offer including biometrics.

Next our operations team were off to Vendex, a regular for us on the show calendar so it was great to catch up with our contacts there. The show was well attended and there was a definite air of excitement at being out and seeing customers in-person again. The focus was very much on ways to move forward coming out of the pandemic and as a result contactless payments and non-touch selection on machines were the main topics of discussion.

Although the industry was negatively impacted by the pandemic, it also provided an opportunity for vending to step up and bridge the gap in place of closed catering services, and in some cases has led to more innovative thinking in terms of what machines sell and how they can be used.
